MY Melanin

There she is, standing tall and proud

A woman of colour, they call her

You can tell where she is, even in a crowd

Her curves, her skin tone,

she’s more precious than a gemstone,

perfection is her

Tho she’s dark, but she shines like a star

brighter than her peers and it’s brighter when she appears

She glows, she dances with grace,

her moves, she slows down the pace of all men,

she’s so sharp she could make a balloon pop.

Everyone stares in awe, glaring at her beauty

But I know none can have her, coz

She’s my melanin.
